Karana Downs Child Care Centre

The Karana Downs Child Care centre is located in the leafy western suburbs of Brisbane. The service has been part of the local community since the early 1990’s when it was the ASOKA International Kindergarten/Preschool. The building was renovated to become a long day care service in 2009 and Karana Downs Child Care recently become part of the Sparrow Early Learning Family.

The centre provides quality care for children aged 6 weeks through to school age and is open 6:30am-6:00pm Monday to Friday.

Focus on Strong Relationships

Karana Downs Child Care endeavours to create an environment that focuses on forming strong relationships between children, family, the community and the environment. Children have the opportunity to play and learn in a newly renovated playground as well as a natural play space.

Karana Downs Child Care offer play dates before commencing care. This enables children to settle in well and for families to experience the centre’s program and get to know the educators.

Nutritional Meals Provided

The centre is passionate about nutrition and all meals are prepared from scratch at the service by the centre’s cook. All dietary requirements are catered for including Coeliac, Gluten free, Dairy free, Vegetarian and Vegan options.

All meals, nappies and sunscreen are supplied by the service. Karana Downs Child Care offer up to 3 weeks’ holiday fee at a discounted rate (conditions apply). Upon enrolment, each child receives a free hat and a Kindy shirt.

Regular educational programs and entertainment are also provided at no extra cost.

Play Based Educational Program

Karana Downs Child Care offer a play based developmental/educational program which is child focused. The centre is flexible while still offering structure and routine so children can feel secure and settled.

The centre provides a Government approved and funded Kindergarten Program with the benefit of long day care hours for working families. There is an Early Childhood Teacher on-site every day at the service.

All educators at Karana Downs Child Care hold childcare qualifications or are studying towards these qualifications. The educators at Karana Downs Child Care are committed to providing high quality care for the children who attend the service in a warm, nurturing environment.

The service has received an EXCEEDING rating in the ACECQA Assessment and Rating process.
