Frequently asked questions
DO PARENTS STAY FOR THE WORKSHOP? No, the workshops are drop and go.
WHAT DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING? Morning tea, lunch, water bottle, yoga mat, hat.
MY CHILD IS HAPPY AND CONFIDENT AND HASN’T HAD ANY MAJOR CHALLENGES, IS THIS PROGRAM FOR THEM? Yes! Standing Strong is a preventive and pro-active program. We are designed to support girls and boys before they have any major health and wellbeing challenges.
Standing Strong works best when children join before any difficult times start, this way they can build a strong support network and feel empowered and confident if, and when challenges occur.
I’M KEEN BUT MY CHILD IS NOT, HOW CAN I GET THEM IN? Children can be hesitant and / or resistant when considering Standing Strong. This is primarily to do with their past experiences with groups they don’t know. It can be very overwhelming, and out of their comfort zone, especially if they don’t know anyone at Lemonade Kids. If you can get your daughter or son to Lemonade Kids, they can support them from there, the toughest challenge may be getting them to Lemonade Kids. Once kids see first-hand what Lemonade Kids and classes are like, they love it – they just need to overcome that initial fear and that’s where parents can help.
MY CHILD HAS A LEARNING OR PHYSICAL DISABILITY, CAN YOU SUPPORT THEM? Yes, Lemonade Kids prides themselves on inclusivity.
The only consideration is that Lemonade Kids deliver the classes in a very positive and uplifting group environment, and it is their responsibility to maintain this for the group as a whole, throughout the entire workshop.
If your child requires additional support to assist with their attention, maintaining regulated behaviour, or simply to feel comfortable in the group environment due to their condition, please contact Lemonade Kids so you can discuss your needs.
The needs and comfort level of your child is our number one priority, so if in doubt please contact Lemonade Kids to establish whether the workshop is the best option for your child.
