Junior Program

Aged 8-12 years and fascinated by the ocean and marine animals? Discover what it’s like to be a Marine Biologist for a Day and meet amazing underwater creatures.

Ever wondered how many teeth a shark has? How long sea cucumbers live for? Which animal throws its stomach out through its mouth to eat? Ocean Life Education’s Marine Biologist for a Day Primary Program is designed for children with a curiosity about the marine environment and the fascinating animals who call it home.

This program dives deep below the surface to provide kids with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience. It also clears up some common misconceptions about the ocean’s much-maligned
awesome apex predator – the shark.

Senior Program

Are you interested in Marine Science or thinking about becoming a Marine Biologist? Dive into the world of marine science on this full-day program designed to introduce students to the marine
environment, engage them in marine science, and inspire them to get out there and make a difference.

Students cover a wide variety of marine biology topics including fish adaptations, dangerous marine animals, shark ecology, echinoderm classification and learn about current ocean concerns such as microplastics, animal ethics and ocean acidification. They also check out what’s on the inside by observing a scientific fish dissection.

For Professional Educators

A fully qualified marine biologist uses live touch tanks, preserved marine animals and artefacts to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the ocean and the animals in it. Students also
discover what it’s like to work in the field of marine science and learn about career options.

Children’s Events & Parties

Kids of all ages love Ocean Life Education’s lively and fun parties. They are taken on an exciting ocean discovery with a choice of themes including Shark Discovery and Weird & Wonderful Creatures of the Sea.  Ocean Life Education set up transparent touch tanks for effortless access and clear viewing, housing a diverse array of marine life such as blue linckia and thorny sea stars, black and tropical sea cucumbers, sea urchins, and baby bamboo sharks. They also offer a range of educational resources including shark jaws, seashells and intriguing artifacts.
 
The engaging team at Ocean Life Education will blow the kids’ minds with incredible facts about ocean life and kids will love getting up close and personal with the marine team!

Amazing Sharks – Course

Learn the facts and bust the myths about sharks and why they are crucial to our existence with Ocean Life Education’s awesome certified Amazing Sharks online course for kids (and adults!). It’s packed full of awesome activities, videos, infographics and fast facts, plus four shark quizzes. Pass all four chapters to qualify as a Shark Legend.

Humpback Whales Course

Ocean Life Education’s new online course is for kids who want to get the low down on Humpbacks and Australia’s East Coast migration. It contains awesome videos, infographics, a whale-watching guide, a migration calendar, fast facts, quizzes and more. Complete the course to receive a personalised certificate, awarded by Marine Biologist, Richard Coward!
