About Small Scholars
Small Scholars is a specialised school readiness program for 3 to 6 year olds, founded and run by Amie Sewell. They also offer a Messy-playgroup for children under the age of 4.
Amie is a qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Primary Education (majoring in Inclusivity and Special Needs) and has over 13 years’ experience teaching in multiple primary schools across all year levels as a full time and contract teacher.
Amie’s passion and strength lies in holistic learning approaches and exploration of learning styles, with an aim to unlock each student’s learning spark through nurturing individual approaches and a supportive environment.
Small Scholars’ school readiness lessons develop the literacy and numeracy knowledge, skills and strategies aligned to the Department of Education and Australian Curriculum. This is done primarily through research backed play-based learning programs, tailored to meet your child’s developmental stage.
Small Scholars realises that younger siblings also desire to come to Small Scholars, so they have created a ‘Mini Scholars’ every Monday from 9:00am to 10:45am for Kids to attend. This is a small class for children to feel secure away from their parents while they learn the essential skills of learning and independence with a small class size.
