Holiday fun on two wheels

Did your kids get a new bike for Christmas? Riding a bike is a great way for kids to get active and explore the outdoors, but getting kids started on two wheels can be a challenge.

Brisbane City Council’s Cycling Brisbane and Active & Healthy programs have teamed up to deliver a range of free bike skills sessions these school holidays. Sessions are available for all ages, from pre-schoolers through to high school students, and will teach them the necessary skills to feel confident riding a bike.

Learn to Ride Sessions include:

· Wheely Fun (4-7 years): helping kids transition from training wheels to two wheels with a stack of helpful tips and tricks for parents on how you can encourage them to keep riding

· Become a Wheel World Wizard (7-10 years): teaching kids off-road and bikeway skills through riding-based games and challenges

· Get Your Own Wheels (10 years and over): teaching kids moving into high school safe riding practices and independence on the bike
