Finding seam free socks for kids in Australia is hard work. I know because I have been there! A lot of children have sensory issues when it comes to clothes. Many kids complain about seams and tags itching, scratching or hurting. With socks in particular, some children just don’t like the feeling of wearing them, whereas others with sensory processing disorders or tactile defensiveness are prone to extreme discomfort from sock seams. The most simple solution that works for many children is to turn socks inside out so that the seam isn’t rubbing against they’re feet all day. However, for some children that technique simply doesn’t work, and in these situations special socks may be required. With so many parents facing the same issue, we’ve compiled a handy list of the places where you can buy special seam free socks for your Brisbane Kids.
It Makes Sense
Online store It Makes Sense, based in Brisbane, is run by a mum who has a son who experienced sensory issues wearing socks and shoes. After finding solutions for her own son she decided to share them with others through an online store. It Makes Sense stocks SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Sensitivity Socks, which are seamless socks designed specifically for children with a sensory processing disorder or hypersensitivity to seams. The socks are knitted like a cocoon and are completely seam free. The socks are available from size 1 – 8 and larger sizes are available in the SmartKnitBIGKids Seamless Sensitivity Socks. SmartKnitKIDS Seamless Sensitivity Socks are available at It Makes Sense from $13.00. We found this kid review which to us is the only review which makes sense.
Fuss Free Feet

Do Seam Free Socks for Kids really matter?
For a child with sensory process disorder, seam-free socks can be the difference between wearing socks and not. Socks extend the life of shoes and gather the sweat to stop the shoes growing stinky over time. If you have a child that is a bit “funny” with wearing socks or is agitated by the seams then you have to make a personal decision. However, I would put this to you. Kids have a lot going on at school, pressure, input from many directions and they are often holding in their little spirited selves (doing the right thing). I think, sometimes, doing what we can to help them feel as comfortable as possible at school is crucial to their learning success. Not unlike ensuring they are sitting comfortably in their chair or having airconditioning in a classroom on a hot day.
