Pratten Park is a fantastic park and playground located between the esplanade and the beach at Broadbeach, about an hour south of Brisbane. It’s also right beside an access point for a patrolled beach, which makes it an awesome destination for an activity-packed day out with your Brisbane Kids.
Pratten Park playground
A key attraction of Pratten Park is the track encircling the entire playground with 2 pedal vehicles designed like cars or motorbikes. Dotted inside the track loop are several play structures for younger children, including climbing opportunities, slides, a play boat, 4 swings, a small flying fox, a bouncing platypus and other animals to ride on, as well as a simple merry-go-round. There are plenty of different activities to keep your Brisbane Kids entertained within this space. There is a mix of soft fall and wood chip base.
Imagination Factor
Kids will love racing around the pedal monorail track, trying to break the speed record in the Tour de France or catch up with their friends on the track in front of them. The mini flying fox will see them soaring through the air with views to the beach and ocean beyond. The open nature of this park lends itself to lots of imaginary play games, as well as ball games on the grassy flat spaces.
Accessibility
The playground is partially shaded with shade sails, and there is an accessible toilet block, a gas barbecue and an undercover area with picnic tables, as well as other picnic tables and benches dotted around the park. Concrete paths run throughout the park. Large trees and expensive lawns also offer shade and a place to bring a picnic or your fish and chips.
