Bim’bimba Park unveils a playground wonderland that caters to all ages. In 2020 it was awarded the ‘Best Park and Playground Design’ for Queensland, a testament to its thoughtful and engaging features that promise a day of family fun. Furthermore, the sizeable lawn and surrounding green space offers a place to relax or picnic if you’re looking to slow things down.
Bim’bimba Park Playground
Bim’bimba Park in Pimpama showcases boundless play possibilities. This expansive playground caters to explorers seeking imaginative journeys, exhilarating physical challenges, and moments of pure family enjoyment.
A multifaceted wonderland, it’s designed to cater to a diverse range of interests and ages. The playground area boasts an extensive array of features such as a large, suspended tunnel that leads to The Tower’s intricate interior web of ropes, providing access to a two-level tight corkscrew slide. However, be aware the slide is made of metal and may be hot during summer months!
The eclectic mix of attractions also includes metal musical pipes, a spinning wheel, extensive rope climbing challenges, and swing set with three seating options. While its vastness may seem overwhelming, it ensures there’s always something new to discover.
Tip – check out information signage placed at the entry to the park to find your way around the many sections.
Notably, although the “Junior Play” area caters to younger children, these elements may be better suited for slightly older kids. Despite its impressive offerings, some visitors may find themselves wishing for more toddler-friendly attractions.
A standout feature of Bim’bimba Park which sets it apart from many other playgrounds is its dedicated ‘Teen Hang’ area. There’s a basketball court complete with a single hoop and a permanent ping pong table, perfect for friendly matches and skilful rallies – just remember to bring your own balls and paddles!
The skateboard and scooter enthusiasts haven’t been forgotten – Bimbimba Park’s Teen Hang area features two concrete rainbow arches equipped with metal coping.
Beyond the playground, Bim’bimba Park is just that – a park. At the centre of it all is a sprawling outdoor amphitheatre perfect for large group gatherings. Surrounding this you’ll find numerous shaded picnic shelters complete with BBQs.
If you didn’t bring any food with you, not to worry! Directly across the street you’ll find several fast food options and a Woolworths inside Pimpama Junction Shopping Centre.

What We Thought of Bim’bimba Park
We loved Bim’bimba Park mostly for the sprawling layout and natural elements. After we’d been exhausted with play, we took advantage of the park’s oval – a perfect spot to kick off our shoes and enjoy lunch on the grass. We were even treated to local black cockatoos flying by!
