Tucked behind houses in the quiet suburban streets of Bellbowrie, you’ll find the recently established learn-to-ride track at Kangaroo Gully Road Park. This is an excellent spot for toddlers and small children just starting out on their wheels to practise riding.
Kangaroo Gully Road Park Learn-to-ride Track
This recently constructed learn-to-ride track in Bellbowrie is landscaped beautifully and is situated in a quiet stretch of a green reserve. It’s the perfect place to take your little one as they gain confidence on their scooter or bike.
The paved road-like surfaces are smooth and even with gentle turns and undulations. Children can negotiate past traffic signs and intersections on this looping course. There’s a pedestrian crossing, stop sign, traffic light signs, and even a pretend petrol bowser for zoomy little people who need to refuel their vehicles.
As they ride, children can get a sense of the importance of sticking to the left as they make their way through roundabouts, following the directions of arrows on signs and the road surface.
There are no challenging obstacles here. If you have found some bike and scooter tracks are too tough for little people, then this is the perfect place to visit. Due to its smaller size and simple layout, this location is unlikely to attract confident riders. This track’s smaller scale also makes it easy to keep an eye on your children when they are navigating the course independently.
The ample green space surrounding the track is a wonderful place for older siblings to play a game of soccer, football or cricket.
There is limited shade over the track, only some natural shade from surrounding trees, so bringing your hat along is a good idea. This track is in a calm and peaceful section away from traffic. Although this location is unfenced, the track is well away from any roads, and neighbouring residences surround most of the reserve.
Kangaroo Gully Road Park Imagination Factor
Zoom, zoom, beep, beep, whoa, that’s so fast! This track is the perfect place for little posties to make deliveries or emergency service vehicles to rush to the rescue. Alternatively, speedsters can rev their engines and set off racing around the track. If little ones wants to practice enforcing the road rules then perhaps they want to try their hand at being a police officer or traffic controller.
Kangaroo Gully Road Park Accessibility
The track here is a smooth paved surface, suitable for wheelchairs and prams. However, access to the track from the car park is over a grassed slope.

What We Thought of Kangaroo Gully Road Park
I wish we had found this track earlier when my little one was taking their first trips out on their bike and scooter. This location is ideal for young kids to begin their riding journey. We had an excellent time here as my four-year-old zoomed around, trying to respond to the traffic signs and testing his ability to take the corners with increasing speed. He enjoyed having to stop for me as I made my way across the pedestrian crossing.
How to Get Here
The street address for Kangaroo Gully Road Park is 147 Kangaroo Gully Road, Bellbowrie, QLD 4070.
The park has no street frontage at this location, just an alleyway between some houses leading to the reserve, which is difficult to see when driving. Instead, navigate to Crinum Street Bellbowrie, which has a small car park close to the learn-to-ride track.
